Human Resources Manager

Full-time | $100,000–$115,000 annually, depending on experience

Quince & Co. is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support the teams behind Quince, Cotogna, Verjus, and our broader restaurant group.

This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who brings sound judgment, strong organization, and a thoughtful approach to working with people. Working closely with leadership and restaurant managers, you will manage daily HR operations, support employees, and help strengthen consistent practices across the company.

Our ideal candidate is approachable, discreet, and comfortable navigating a busy restaurant environment. You have a solid foundation in HR, know when to seek guidance, and are ready to take on greater responsibility.

• Serve as a resource for employees and managers on HR policies, workplace concerns, and employment practices.

• Address employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, corrective action, and documentation, partnering with leadership and counsel as needed.

• Support managers with performance conversations and consistent application of company policies.

• Oversee onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and changes in employment status.

• Administer benefits, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation processes in coordination with internal partners and providers.

• Partner with payroll to ensure accurate employee information and timely communication of changes.

• Maintain and help improve HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.

• Support compliance with applicable federal, California, and San Francisco employment requirements.

• Coordinate manager training and employee communications.

• Partner with Talent Acquisition and operations to ensure a smooth transition from hiring through onboarding.

• Three or more years of HR experience, with exposure to employee relations and day-to-day HR operations.

• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or another business with an hourly workforce preferred.

• Working knowledge of California employment practices, with the judgment to recognize when additional guidance is needed.

• Comfortable supporting managers, answering employee questions, and handling confidential information with discretion.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills and an approachable, professional manner.

• Strong organization, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.

• Able to take ownership of daily responsibilities while continuing to build HR knowledge and experience.

• Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms; Paylocity experience and Spanish language skills are a plus.

• Annual salary of $100,000–$115,000, depending on experience.
